The Plan for Accelerated and Sustained Development to End Poverty (PASDEP) is Ethiopia’s strategic framework for 2005/06-2009/10, aimed at eradicating poverty through growth and development. Building on the Sustainable Development and Poverty Reduction Program (SDPRP), PASDEP emphasizes infrastructure, human development, rural development, food security, and capacity-building, while introducing new focuses on agricultural commercialization, private sector development, and urban growth. The plan underwent extensive governmental review and public consultation, incorporating data from various surveys and studies. It outlines strategic directions, sectoral policies, and programs, and includes chapters on macroeconomic frameworks, financing, and monitoring and evaluation.
