The High-Level Development Forum

The High-Level Development Forum (HLDF), which happened on 14 March 2024, focused on discussing strategic policy challenges and addressed humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding priorities related to the national development plan in Ethiopia. The forum also served as a space for high-level policy exchange and alignment of development cooperation support in line with the objectives of the 3 Year Development Plan.

The HLDF was a platform for discussing strategic policy challenges and addressing humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding priorities in Ethiopia. It was designed to align with the national development plan of the country. The discussions and actions were focused on three broad strategic areas:

  1. Building and Consolidating Peace: This involved discussions and strategies aimed at fostering peace and harmony within the nation. It could have involved conflict resolution strategies, peace treaties, and other peace-building initiatives.
  2. Building and Strengthening Resilience: This area focused on strategies to make the nation more resilient. It could have involved discussions on climate change adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and strengthening the economic and social systems of the country.
  3. Addressing Macroeconomic Challenges: This involved discussions on the economic challenges facing the country and strategies to overcome them. Fiscal policies, trade policies, and other economic strategies were also discussed.

The HLDF also served as a space for high-level policy exchange and alignment of development cooperation support in line with the objectives of the 3 Year Development Plan. The HLDF is a platform for high-level dialogue, discussion, and strategic planning.
