Effective Development Cooperation Task Force (EDCTF)

The EDCTF aims at enhancing dialogue and promoting new collaborations among all development actors in order to effectively contribute to a sustainable and inclusive development in Ethiopia and foster an efficient and sustainable mobilization and utilization of development resources. The EDCTF endeavor to coordinate joint efforts between development partners and government in achieving the objectives of the national development plan, Agenda 2063 of the “Africa We Want”, the globally agreed Agenda 2030 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Addis Ababa Action Agenda (AAAA) of Sustainable Development Financing.

The Effective Development Cooperation Taskforce (EDCTF) has been reactivated in March 2023 in line with the recommendation of the DPG retreat held in November 2022. The taskforce is comprised of representatives of the Government of Ethiopia and the Development Partners Group (DPG) to strengthen mutual accountability and ensure that commitments on effective development cooperation are implemented and monitored timely.

The EDCTF oversees and coordinates activities of Joint and Technical Working Groups (J/TWGs) and also serves as a bridge to make sure that the decisions of the HLF are implemented by Sector Government Agencies and Development Cooperation structures and issues sourced from J/TWG are brought to the attention of the High-Level Development Forum (HDLF) either in the form of agenda items or as information sharing.

Membership is open to bilateral or multilateral partners upon rotation – 5 Directors from MoF and 1 from MoPD, and 6 pillar leads from the DPG.
