The DPG Secretariat

The DPG Secretariat, hosted by the UNDP Country Office, supports the DPG Cochairs in ensuring a smooth running of the Development Partners Group. For that, it facilitates dialogue with GoE counterparts, as well as the organization of DPG ExCom, DPG Heads of Agency meetings, High Level Forum (in coordination with Government and other DPG actors) provides advice and supports various joint and technical working groups. Besides, it provides support to the Ministry of Finance (MoF) and Ministry of Planning and Development (MPD) in the context of the DPG Pooled Fund’s support to national development priority plans. The Secretariat interacts with SWGs to keep track of their work, ensure good communication with the DPG and proper follow up of policy – HLF – decisions and action points, providing regular feedback to DPG co-chairs about challenges faced by SWGs and/or request for meetings/briefings. The DPG Secretariat is the mediator that ensures SWGs feed into the HLF, that SWGs communicate across sectors and update DPG members regularly about national development plans / goals progress and challenges.

The DPG secretariat also ensures close follow up of other activities directly linked to the DPG / GoE dialogue and aid effectiveness agenda. These activities include supporting the aid information management practice, supporting the Ministry of Planning in developing national development plans and monitoring progress of implementation of SDGs, strengthening M&E systems, fostering dialogue on diversification of sources of finance for development, and managing the DPG website.
