GTP I

The Government of Ethiopia’s Growth and Transformation Plan (GTP) for 2010/11-2014/15 aims to sustain high economic growth and achieve the Millennium Development Goals by 2015, with a long-term vision of becoming a middle-income country by 2020-2023. Building on the successes of the previous Plan for Accelerated and Sustained Development to End Poverty (PASDEP), the GTP focuses on key sectors such as agriculture, industry, infrastructure, and social development. The plan was developed through extensive consultations with various stakeholders, including government bodies, private sector, civil society, and the public, ensuring broad-based support and participation. The GTP outlines strategic directions, objectives, and targets across ten chapters, emphasizing the importance of mobilizing financial and human resources to achieve its ambitious goals.
