UNOPS and World Bank Portfolio in Tigray

Between 2020 and 2022, conflict in Tigray Region of Ethiopia severely affected millions of people. It caused loss of lives, displacement of population, destruction of social and economic infrastructure, and gender-based violence. The Government of Ethiopia and World Bank partnered with UNOPS thought seven projects worth over USD 49 million. The objectives were to mitigate consequences of conflict and support the recovery and rehabilitation of the entire region.
